We are delighted to have been awarded the "NRW Venue Programme Award" again this year - and for the 13th time!
Yesterday evening we were at the Bunker Ulmenwall where Gonca Türkeli-Dehnert, State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Science, presented the awards. The NRW Venue Programme Prize is awarded for outstanding programmes by venues that are committed to jazz, improvised music and advanced pop/rock music and offer a forum to up-and-coming artists or bands with a regional impact.
We would like to thank the jury (consisting of the musicians Christina Lux and Ulla Oster, Tim Isfort (moers festival) and Head of the Music Department at the Ministry of Culture and Science Thomas Baerens), the hosts of the evening - Eva Luise Roth from the Landesmusikrat NRW and the team from Bunker Ulmenwall - as well as Luah for the beautiful music at the award ceremony, and the Cultural Office of the City of Düsseldorf for their continuous support of our work to make a place like the Jazz-Schmiede possible!
Our congratulations also go to all the other 14 award-winning venues: our Düsseldorf colleagues at Zakk, the Loft (Cologne), Klangbücke (Aachen), Loch (Wuppertal), Bandfabrik (Wuppertal), Black Box im Cuba (Münster), Bunker Ulmenwall (Bielefeld), Goldkante (Bochum), Domicil (Dortmund), In Situ Arts Society (Bonn), Jazz Initiative Dinslaken, Jazzkeller Krefeld, King Georg (Cologne) and the venue (Wuppertal).
