Digital Shadow – Alexander Pielsticker/ Nicolas Kummert
One duo, two worlds of sound, one fused music: pianist Alexander plays a prepared piano, whose sounds and vibrations are manipulated electronically live by Nicolas. The result is a mysterious web of sound in which it is no longer clear who is producing which sound - an organic fusion of acoustic and digital sound. Nicolas expands this soundscape with his saxophone, which blends seamlessly into the electronic processing. Together they create music that is poetic, abstract, powerful and sometimes even raw.
The two met during their Master's degree at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem (NL), where Alexander explored the prepared piano and Nicolas explored the boundaries between electronics and acoustic music. Their interplay is not just an experiment - it is a captivating sound journey.
Klangwelten Duo
With their duo "Klangwelten", Anna-Karina and Carlotta create a special world of sound with their unusual combination of voice and vibraphone.
The two musicians break through the traditional functions of accompanying and melody instruments and create their music through constant interaction, similar to an exciting conversation. Together they combine music and emotion in a varied interplay of spherical, melancholic and rhythmically precise moments. The duo won the Domicil Promotion Prize in December 2023 and was nominated for the "Women in Jazz" competition in 2024.
