Big drums meet brilliant basses, cutting electric guitars meet spectacular flutes
"High-flyers on the German jazz scene" is how NDR described the rise of Jin Jim after its formation in 2013, with awards (including Future Sounds prize-winners) and international guest appearances following straight away. The quartet's meteoric rise is based on the innovation that they bring to their compositions, with a wide variety of musical elements always colliding with maximum effect. The overall result sounds dreamy at times, wild at others, rocking at others, with a melodic line that is all of a piece.
The new album "New Choices" proves that prog, hard rock and jazz go together perfectly. Especially when they are played with such dedication and precision. The sound of Jin Jim reminds some of Jethro Tull, others can hear hip-hop and Latin elements. One thing is certain: Jin Jim is catchier, more powerful and more compact than ever.
