ISMND Trio // Moody Monks // Schmid Soul Connection

Final concert evening IMM / Institute for Music and Media

Fietje Schlegelmilch and Michael Schmid, students of the Düsseldorf Institute for Music and Media, will be playing their final concerts at the Schmiede and presenting three of their formations:

Captured by the energy of spontaneous jams, the ISMND Trio has come together to form a fresh groove jazz project. Their music unfolds in a fascinating interplay of grooves, infused with the vibrant influences of hip-hop, funk and jazz.

The Moody Monks practise their art the way they came together: New, fresh, unrestrained and carefree. It applies more or less freely to the ears, not only within the songs, but also in their selection. One thing is certain: it can't be done without drive.

Michael Schmid's Soul Connection Düsseldorf brings together members of the Institute for Music and Media and the Hsd Bigband, among others. Well-known soul titles by Stevie Wonder or Tower of Power, for example, are played
tower of Power are played. Some of the arrangements have been modified to create a perfect symbiosis of driving grooves and the charismatic voice of Martin Ochs.
