VokalOrchester NRW feat. Lauren Newton

The VokalOrchester NRW explores the unexpected, the surprising. They create
Music in a regular collective: exciting, unusual and experimental.
Improvisation is at the heart of their music, complemented by their own compositions and arrangements. In the past, the ensemble has performed on stage with top artists
Artists, including Theo Bleckmann, Johannes Bär and Robert Ames.
collaborations with Rhiannon (USA) and Martin Fondse (NL) will follow in 2024/2025.

Lauren Newton, born in Oregon, USA, studied classical singing at the University of Oregon and at the
University of Oregon and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, where she has lived as a vocalist since
1974 as a vocalist.
She expanded her range of vocal expression and singing techniques,
vocal expression, focussing primarily on vocal expression, and has gained recognition in both the jazz and
she has achieved great recognition in both the jazz and avant-garde music scenes
between jazz, new music, performance and dance.
In 2020, she received the Jazz Prize for her life's work from the state of Baden-Württemberg.
