Jam Session – Maxi Valdés Hammond Trio

Every Tuesday: Jam Session in the Jazz-Schmiede. The evening always starts at 8pm with an opener concert set with different bands every week. Afterwards, from around 9pm, there is an open jam session - anyone can simply come and join in to jam with other musicians and the opening band. Admission is free, so the sessions are also a great opportunity to get to know the Schmiede in an uncomplicated way.

The Maxi Valdes Hammond Trio is a fresh band line-up that is fully committed to the flow of hard bop and improvised groove music. The musical diversity of their music can be compared to the colour palette used by female artists. In addition to their own compositions, the trio plays arrangements of Thelonious Monk, Michael Becker, John Scofield and Joe Henderson compositions. What makes this trio's sound and style so special is the freedom of grooves, improvisation and willingness to take risks.
