Jam Session – Paul Prassel Trio

Every Tuesday: Jam Session in the Jazz-Schmiede. The evening always starts at 8pm with an opener concert set with different bands every week
This is followed by an open jam session from around 9pm - anyone can simply come and join in to jam with other musicians and the opening band. Admission is free, so the sessions are also a great opportunity to get to know the Schmiede in an uncomplicated way.

Opener:

Paul Prassel, born and raised in Cologne, completed his bachelor's degree in jazz guitar at the HfMT Cologne and currently lives in Oslo, where he spent two years studying for a master's degree with Lage Lund.
In his trio, he realises his own compositions, which draw inspiration from other genres and art forms in addition to jazz history and the work of pioneering modern interpreters. Meanwhile, the creative and open approach to jazz standards is always an integral part of his everyday musical life.
The interplay with the fantastic rhythm section (consisting of long-time companions Calvin Lennig on bass and Simon Bräumer on drums) is based on trust and appreciation and creates life-affirming moments with great joy in playing
