Dutch singer Fay Claassen is one of the great female voices on the international jazz scene; she sings with sophistication, elegance and sensitivity. Anyone who hears Fay Claassen sing immediately realises that she is something very special. She has the special gift of not only touching the listener, but rather of going straight to the heart.

Over the course of her career, Fay has released 11 albums under her own name and has toured in Europe and Asia. She has often been invited to collaborate with famous guest soloists (Toots Thielemans, Mike Stern, Paquito D'Riviera, David Linx) and arrangers (Vince Mendoza, Ivan Paduart, Michael Abene, Bob Brookmeyer). She is also a regular guest with renowned big bands and orchestras, from the Metropole Orkest, Brussels Jazz Orchestra, WDR Big Band, Jazz Orkest of the Concertgebouw to the Residentie Orkest. The new album "Symphonic Stories" was released with the latter in May '23. In 2022, she performed for the ninth (!) time at North Sea Jazz, the last time in collaboration with the Peter Beets New Jazz Orchestra.

Fay Claassen has received several prestigious awards and international music prizes, including a Golden Record, the Chet Baker Award, Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and in 2022 she became the first artist ever to win her fourth Edison Jazz Award, the Dutch Grammy, for the ten-part album "Fay Live", which contains previously unreleased live recordings on the occasion of her 25th anniversary.

"Fay Claassen is to singing what Audrey Hepburn was to the movies: elegant and graceful" (CADENCE Magazine)
